A parent or guardian will be required to screen their children for COVID-19 symptoms every day prior to sending them to school using the DrOwl app. The DrOwl screener should be completed at least 30 minutes before school begins. If a student comes to campus without completing the screener or comes to campus with a denial, they will be sent to a campus isolation area. In the isolation area, a campus employee will contact the student's parent to obtain the necessary information and take the student's temperature. Please know that repeated incidents of lack of self-screening will result in the student removed from face-to-face learning and switched to remote learning. Check out the DrOwl Resources for more information.
All staff and students in Grades 1-12 will be required to wear face coverings (masks or face shields) when entering and exiting the building, when in hallways and common areas, when riding the bus, and when 6 feet of distancing cannot be maintained. Please ensure your student brings a mask/shield to school daily. If a student forgets their mask/shield, we will have a limited supply of masks to provide or the parent will be called to bring a mask/shield immediately. The district will provide face shields for all Pre-K and Kindergarten students to be used during small group instruction or learning circles.
Students should bring a water bottle to school daily. The campus is equipped with water bottle refilling stations for student use throughout the day. Please make sure your child's water bottle is labeled with their name and grade level.
We will not be allowing visitors. This includes walking students to class and having lunch with them on campus. In the morning, all students must be dropped off in the carline unless they are coming to school on a bus. We are asking all parent/teacher conferences be held virtually, if possible.
SUPERVISION & BUILDING ACCESS
Students will be allowed into the building beginning at 7AM. Parents must remain in their vehicles and not walk with students. Upon arrival, students will report directly to their homeroom class and breakfast will be provided until the 7:25 AM tardy bell rings. The end of the school day is 3:05 PM.
Students in grades K-5 will now be eating lunch in the cafeteria in order to best allow for social distancing. If your student brings a sack lunch from home, please ensure they bring it with them in the morning. We will no longer accept outside food drop off.
During arrival and dismissal, carline should only be accessed from CR 128, not from the front entrance on FM 775. After entering from CR 128, morning drop-off locations include the front and back entrances. After entering from CR 128, afternoon carline proceeds to the front of the school and guardians will utilize the PikMyKid app. To learn more about PikMyKid, read over the PikMyKid User Guide or watch this short video.
