My title is dyslexia specialist. What is dyslexia?

An impaired ability to understand written language: a learning disorder marked by a severe difficulty in recognizing and understanding written language, leading to spelling and writing problems. It is not caused by low intelligence or brain damage.


I have training for teaching the dyslexic student. I am also an educational diagnostician which means that I can test for disabilities, as well.

I teach Kindergarten up to 5th grade in the dyslexia program. Attached is a file titled Dyslexia in the Classroom which explains dyslexia and gives some accommodations that can be made for students with this disability.
