Floresville ISD Board Approves Interim Superintendent Dr. Lana Collavo

Floresville ISD — The Floresville Independent School District Board of Trustees has officially approved an agreement with Dr. Lana Collavo to serve as interim superintendent of Floresville ISD. Dr. Collavo will begin serving the district on July 1, 2026.

Dr. Collavo brings decades of experience in public education, including service as a teacher, campus administrator, assistant superintendent and superintendent. She most recently served as superintendent of Natalia ISD and previously served as superintendent of Jourdanton ISD.

Throughout her career, Dr. Collavo has led districts through major initiatives including bond elections, construction projects, policy review, budget development and instructional planning. Her experience also includes working with diverse student populations, building strong relationships with school boards and communities, and supporting campus-based instruction from early childhood through high school.

“Dr. Collavo brings a strong background in public education and district leadership,” said Floresville ISD Board President Stephen Shodrock. “Her experience as a superintendent, along with her knowledge of school finance, operations and instruction, will help provide steady leadership for Floresville ISD during this transition.”

“I appreciate the Board’s confidence in selecting me to serve as interim superintendent of Floresville ISD,” Dr. Collavo said. “I look forward to providing leadership, support and continuity for our staff and students during this transition. Together, we will remain focused on serving our students and ensuring their continued success.”

Dr. Collavo holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She also holds superintendent and mid-management administrator certifications for grades PK-12.

The Board of Trustees looks forward to working with Dr. Collavo as the district continues preparing for the 2026-2027 school year and remains focused on serving students, staff and families.
